About GeCo
Geeveston Community Centre Inc, known locally as GeCo, is Australia’s southernmost Neighbourhood House and is part of the Neighbourhood House Tasmania (NHT) network. GeCo was established 31 years ago and is located in the beautiful township of Geeveston.
Our centre is warm and welcoming and there are a range of activities and resources on offer to support local people. Drop-in or get in touch.
GeCo’s mission is to mitigate the social impacts of the decline of Geeveston’s primary industries by bringing people together to focus upon opportunities, wellbeing and equity. We take a strengths approach to community development by providing spaces of safety and support so that locals feel connected to their community and we all have the opportunity to explore our gifts and talents. Our objective is to build capacity through skill development, education and by partnering with other organisations to deliver maximum social benefit.

Over the next 12 months, you will see some fantastic renovations occurring to bring you a new library, computer area, dedicated exercise room, 24 hour shower and laundry and a commercial kitchen!

GeCo acknowledges the mellukerdee people of the South East Nation as the Traditional Owners of the land on which our community centre stands. We respectfully recognise Elders past, present and emerging who are the Traditional Custodians of lands across Australia.
